Blot Mistro.sitting in the waining evening
the thick black ink
eased onto my open skin
blotting out the blood and bruises.
Staring at it there staining my hand
i thought i might disolve into a line or two
of words. Something deep like an ocean
something rivaling emotion.
the ink spread like a black hill
rising on my skin.

I wish i could dissolve into a word. In words
love is real
hate can kill
people can push and pull and pinch
and we need never move.
In a poem you and i can exist.
while outside it is the rain
wipes my footprints from outside your door.

chit-chat

It is no kind of life.
drowning out the drone of the alarm clock.

We are lepers in the bathroom,
gouging out rotten eyes,
rubbing off rotten noses,
rinsing out our tasteless mouths with tasteless water.
A whole new day, a whole new you.
Life is chit-chat.

Then we slide into history, coffee drugged.
A faceless brushstroke in an unfinished painting
by an unknown artist

that will end up in the attic,
while we end underground.

He never caught the Butterfly

When he was six,
only six, with big dark eyes
like black spaces on a white piano face
and his arms stretched out
like a cat's grin in the sunlight

he ran
all dawn and dusk
chasing butterflies again
butterflies with secrets he
needed to know,
but he never could catch you.

Today he's ill
with useless averages.
living the low fat life style,
his dreams are steam in his coffee cup.

and before he goes
he will wait there
by the open door
under the porch light
his hopes packed in a briefcase,
a sparrow in the attic,
fluttering panic,
racking the rafters with moans
dies next to the open window.

as he lifted the hem of his dress
above his knees
to reveal his stockinged thighs.

now i know...my mind is perfectly incapable of following a single doctrine for too long. ...strict lines beg to be crossed after all...and once you step over them they seem so small and far away...and you can never go back...no you can never do that. ...and who wants to ...but come closer angel

He still can't see far enough to see tomorrow,
not even on the clearest Sunday.
but he finally took the revolver from his temple
and put this bullet into words.

oh wow that was kind of awesome.. I know you have different lyrics for this photo relating to the title, but I just finished listening to the NIN song 'into the void' where he sings 'try to save myself, but myself keeps slipping away'.... and then I read the title of your photo after I had clicked it. Heh.. anyways, great photo. You have very nice defined features.
